BRUmil Flexible Mini Fiber Optic Cable

BRUmil Flexible Mini Fiber Optic Cable is made for harsh environments with stainless steel loose tube with up to 8 fibres and stainless steel armour. The very robust and strong BRUmil tactical cable is a very thin cable and therefore many more meters can be installed on the same reel compared to other tactical cables currently available.This may be an advantage in certain operations.

The BRUmil cable is constructed in the centre of a stainless loose tube surrounded by stainless steel wires and coated with a PUR sheath.

This BRUmil cable is rodent proof; rats or mice cannot bite through this cable when it is laying in the field, an important point for critical missions. The BRUmil cable is very rugged and has a very long life span if it is treated properly during cable laying and retrieving it in the field. The BRUmil cables come with 2, 4 or 8 fibres. It can be installed and delivered on drums from approx. 50-5000 meters.

This cable is approved by NATO and the Armed Forces.

BRUcast Broadcast Fiber Optic Cable

The BRUcast Broadcast Fiber Optic Cable is a rugged field cable with dual layer reinforced tight buffered fibres for the harsh environment of the broadcast industry.

The BRUcast Broadcast Fiber Optic Cable is designed for direct assembly of the harsh environment and standard connectors. It has a high tensile strength and is optimised for repeated cable bending. The helically stranded core provides better flexibility and higher mechanical protection for the optical fibres, which makes it perfect for mobile indoor or outdoor applications. The cable is available for Singlemode and Multimode operations.

The BRUcast Broadcast Fiber Optic Cable features optical fibres with dual layer primary coating for improved micro bending.

The robust, abrasion resistant and a halogen free outer sheath is made out of Polyurethane. The blue colour and the cable marking make identification and traceability easy and user-friendly.

The Steel Cable Reels are available in many varieties, e.g. stackable or with carrying handles, and meet standard safety and quality requirements. The surface of the interchangeable steel sheet disks is impact and abrasion resistant. For safety reasons, the carrying handle is not connected to the ground lead. Upon request, the galvanised reels are available in blue, olive drab or black. Galvanised reels are best suited for frequent outdoor applications and heavy duty operations.

The speciality Composite Cable Reels are made of synthetic rubber, which is as durable as steel but significantly lighter. Additional advantages: all conductive components are safely integrated into the rubber construction, thereby preventing any danger of electric shock. The material can withstand temperatures from -20°C to +70°C and is resistant to chemicals, oils and other petroleum based products.

QGrip Metal Breakout Kit

The QPC QGrip Metal Breakout Kit provides a ruggedized solution to terminating distribution cables (for 900µm tight buffered cables only). Unique to QPC, the revolutionary metal construction of the breakout kit ensures the structural safety of each fibre within the assembly. The QGrip is available up to 12 fibres with 2mm or 3mm subunits with a standard length of 24”.

The QGrip comes with a standard red anodise finish and can be customised based on customer requirements.

QLite Sealed LC Connector

QPC’s QLite Sealed LC Connector is designed to exceed the requirements of ODVA, the connectors meet IP68 environmental sealing ratings and are the ideal choice for a low cost and easy to use solution in Industrial, Fibre to the Antenna (FTTa), or any other harsh environmental applications.

The QLite Connector is designed with a simple bayonet locking system, according to the IEC 61076-3-106 interface standard, which allows mating to similar locking systems.

The QLite Connector yields exceptionally low insertion loss for Singlemode applications and provides connector colour coding options in Multimode applications for differentiation of OM3 or OM4 constructions.

High Density Connector

The QPC High-Density connector system utilises industry standard 1.25mm ferrules in a unique termini body to give unparalleled contact density in a harsh environment connector.

The vibration proof 38999-III style connector body is made of nickel plated aluminium for a long, trouble free service life. A fast, triple lead thread allows the system to be mated quickly. The connectors are available in a variety of keying options to prevent erroneous connections in complex systems.

The termini retention mechanism is taken from the 28876 style ‘Shipboard’ connector, the current industry standard in a harsh environment.

Vitalis 900 Expanded Beam Connector

The unique QPC Vitalis 900 Hermaphroditic Hybrid Expanded Beam Connector system combines the reliability of the expanded beam fibre optic connection with high-performance electrical contacts in a single hermaphroditic connector system.

The Expanded Beam connector uses a spherical lens at the fibre end to spread the signal up to 900 times the fibre core diameter. The result is unparalleled resistance to debris, shock, and vibration. The lack of physical contact between the fibres ensures long life and high durability of the system.

QPC combines this with advanced electrical contacts. Connectors can be configured up to 15 amps, pin and socket, 1000 Volt (Max 3000 Volt short term), depending on the end use requirements. The durability of the connector is in excess of 2,000 cycles.

The connector system is hermaphroditic; plugs will mate with other plugs or with receptacles. The entire assembly is completely sealed. The large ergonomic grip makes repeated mating cycles easy and reliable.

The E-Link Connectors use field proven design concepts from the MIL-C-38999 and MIL-PRF-83526 series connectors, making them perfect for dynamic, harsh environments. The rugged, environmentally sealed design and anodised aluminium body makes the E-Link ideal for use in demanding applications.

The E-Link Hybrid 6 Channel Connector is designed to withstand cable pull or twist, crush or impact and water immersion. The connector is completely sealed against environmental conditions. The unique hard anodised back shell assures that termini are isolated from dynamic stress.

QPC uses high-performance 2.5mm termini and split ceramic alignment sleeves to assure superior performance even under high shock and vibration.

E-Link Hermaphroditic Connector

The QPC E-Link Line features rugged, multi-channel pin/socket, hermaphroditic and hybrid connectors. Available in QPC’s signature blue, classic black and custom finish options as well as stainless steel construction.

The E-Link Hermaphroditic Connectors use field proven design concepts from the MIL-C-38999 and MIL-PRF-83526 series connectors, making them perfect for dynamic, harsh environments. The rugged, environmentally sealed design and anodised aluminium body makes the E-Link ideal for use in demanding applications.

The E-Link Hermaphroditic 4 – 18 Channel Connectors are designed to withstand cable pull or twist, crush or impact and water immersion. The hermaphroditic design allows multiple cables to be directly connected without adapters (i.e. daisy chained).

QPC uses high-performance 2.5mm termini and split ceramic alignment sleeves to assure superior performance even under high shock and vibration.

SC Shroud Removal Tool

The QPC Shroud Removal Tool allows an operator to gently remove an outer shroud from a standard SC Connector without damaging the ceramic ferrule, glass fibre, or plastic body.

The SC Shroud Removal Tool holds the ferrule securely while protecting the sensitive components. Closing the pliers causes the jaws to close in a parallel motion, removing the shroud quickly and easily.

The nickel plated steel handle with rubber grip and 300 series stainless steel jaws will assure long service life and trouble free operation.

C-Jaw Torque Clamp

The C-Jaw Torque Clamp Tool for Shipboard MIL-PRF-28876 style and E-Link Backnut adapters are COTS alternatives to NAVSEA drawing number 6872813-5 (NSN #5120-01-419-3283).

The C-Jaw Torque Clamp for Shipboard and E-Link Backnut is used to attach a standard 3/8 inch torque wrench to the back shell of the MIL-PRF-28876 style Shipboard connector. Torque values are per MIL-STD-2042 specifications.

The tools are constructed of hard anodised aircraft grade aluminium with stainless steel screws. PT-024 is for Shipboard Connector size 11, 13 and 15. PT-025 is designed for Shipboard Connector size 23 and for the E-Link 18 Channel Hermaphroditic Connector System.

Insertion and Removal Tools

QPC termini insertion and removal tools are COTS alternatives to NAVSEA drawing numbers 6872813-2 (Termini Insertion Tool), 6872813-4 (Alignment Sleeve Tool), and 6872813-6 (Termini Removal Tool). These rugged tools are used to insert and remove standard 29504/15 and 29504/16 termini while protecting the ferrule end faces and retention systems.

Constructed of heat treated stainless steel components with phenolic handles these tools are designed to give years of smooth operation at far lower cost than their Mil-Spec equivalents.

Termini Spring Compression Tool

The QPC Spring Compression Tool allows the operator to quickly install the fibre optic termini on the retention plate without damaging the fibre or termini body. The tool is designed to work with the QPC QFOCA Enhanced, E-LINK, and TFOL connector systems.

Place the termini into the spring loaded jaws of the spring compression tool and gently squeeze the handle to compress the spring. The termini can be held with the spring compressed in one hand while manoeuvring the retention plate with the other. The small size and ergonomic grip on the tool allow the termini assembly to be manoeuvred easily without endangering the fibre or end face.

The chrome nickel steel handle and grip will assure long service life and trouble free operation.
